Navigating Polarity and Motherhood for Spiritual Awakening

Londin Angel Winters  ·  January 2025

Motherhood cracked me open in ways I did not expect. And I say that as someone who had spent years teaching other women how to open.

In this conversation on Be Mythical with Lian, I share the real story: how I conceived at 47 after multiple miscarriages. How the experience of pregnancy and birth taught me things about surrender that no workshop or retreat ever could. And how becoming a mother changed everything about how I understand polarity, desire, and the Omega path.

This is not a conversation about how to "get your body back" or "keep the spark alive" after kids. Those conversations miss the point entirely. Motherhood is an initiation. It reshapes your body, your identity, your relationship to pleasure, and your capacity to hold multiple realities at once. The question is not how to return to who you were before. The question is how to let the transformation deepen you rather than flatten you.

Lian and I explore how the polarity dynamic between partners shifts when a child arrives. How a woman's Omega energy naturally redirects toward her baby, and what that means for her partner. How the vulnerability required by motherhood can become a gateway to the deepest spiritual opening of a woman's life, if she is willing to feel it fully rather than manage it.

We also talk about my origin story: how childhood intuition shaped my path into this work, and how I had to throw out everything I thought I knew about being a "strong woman" before I could discover what genuine power actually felt like in my body.

If you are a mother navigating this territory, or a woman considering motherhood and wondering how it will affect your intimate life, this conversation is for you. The practices that supported me through this are part of what Justin and I teach through the Yoga of Intimacy, and the Women's Circle is a monthly space specifically for women doing this work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does motherhood affect intimacy and polarity?

Motherhood redirects a woman's Omega energy toward her child. This is natural and necessary. But if the polarity between partners is not consciously tended, the intimate connection can go dormant. The practice is not to resist the shift but to include it: to let motherhood deepen the Omega capacity rather than deplete it, while creating intentional space for the couple's polarity to remain alive.

Can motherhood be a spiritual awakening?

Yes. Pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood require a level of surrender, vulnerability, and trust that many women have never experienced. These are the same qualities that the Omega path develops in intimate practice. For women who are willing to feel it fully rather than manage it, motherhood can be one of the most profound spiritual openings of a lifetime.

How do you maintain desire as a new mother?

Not by forcing it. By staying connected to your body and your aliveness even when exhaustion, identity shifts, and the demands of caregiving pull you away from yourself. The practices in the Yoga of Intimacy are designed to be done in small moments, not grand gestures. A few minutes of genuine presence with your partner can do more for desire than a weekend away.
