Reclaiming Love Beyond Labels

Londin Angel Winters  ·  May 2018

I had to throw out the words masculine and feminine before I could find what I was actually looking for.

In this conversation on Shakti Hour with Melanie Moser, I share the story of how I came to the Alpha and Omega framework. Not as an intellectual exercise, but out of necessity. When I said I was "moving into my masculine energy," it came loaded with cultural baggage: the failed, unlovable woman who had to compete in a man's world. When I talked about "feminine energy," that carried its own weight: powerless, demure, waiting to be chosen. Neither of those descriptions matched the woman I actually am. I have opinions. I am fully loaded and fiery. And I needed a language for polarity that did not require me to shrink any part of myself.

That is what Alpha and Omega gave me. Alpha is consciousness: stillness, the witness, the knower. Omega is feeling presence: radiance, desire, devotion, the animating force of love. These are not gendered. They are not roles to perform. They are qualities of being that any person can develop and embody, and the polarity between them is what generates desire in a relationship.

Melanie and I also explore my origin story. How I was a woman who had achieved everything the modern world said would make her happy: professional success, financial independence, personal freedom. And how, underneath all of that, I was deeply unfulfilled in love. The search for everlasting love is what led me to this work, and the practice of it is what led me to Justin and to the life we have built together.

If you are a woman who has been told you are "too much" and is looking for a path that does not require you to become less, this conversation is for you. The Awakened Woman's Guide to Everlasting Love was written specifically for you. And Playing With Fire is the book Justin and I wrote together for couples ready to go deeper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did Londin Angel Winters stop using masculine and feminine?

Because those terms carry cultural baggage that limits rather than liberates. "Masculine" evokes rigid, controlling energy. "Feminine" evokes passivity and powerlessness. Neither matched Londin's experience or the women she works with. Alpha and Omega describe the same polarity without the gendered connotations, allowing any person to explore both qualities freely.

What is the difference between Alpha and Omega and masculine and feminine?

Alpha and Omega describe qualities of consciousness, not gender roles. Alpha is stillness, awareness, the witness. Omega is radiance, feeling, desire, devotion. Any person, regardless of gender, can embody either quality. The polarity between these two forces is what generates desire in a relationship. This framework allows both partners to develop range rather than being locked into a single role.

What is The Awakened Woman's Guide to Everlasting Love?

A book by Londin Angel Winters and Justin Patrick Pierce (2018) written specifically for women navigating the path of sacred intimacy. It addresses what it means to love fully without shutting down, to reclaim pleasure and desire, and to develop the Omega capacity that creates lasting polarity in a relationship.
